Join us every Friday as we kick off the weekend with a DIY build! Students will become Builder Buddies by working together to engineer and design the best prototype possible. Each week we’ll dive into something new to develop!
Interested in enrolling after September 13th? Contact us at (760) 450-4717 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Suspension Bridge Challenge”
Students will be challenged to engineer a suspension bridge that can hold pennies. Teams will then try to engineer a bridge to hold the most pennies without breaking.
“Shake and Quake”
Students will be challenged to build the tallest building that can withstand tectonic plate movements. This cool simulator build gives students valuable insight behind the natural disaster Californians know all too well: earthquakes.
Teams of students will design and build a small catapult that can fling marbles across a room. Students will then compile data to determine exactly how much tension it takes to move the marbles certain distances. The team with the most accurate data wins a prize!
Students will use the Glowforge laser cutter to design their own car using Computer Assisted Drawing (C.A.D.) software. Then they’ll cut out their design to engineer a fully movable rubber band car that they’ll face off in a race.
